In March, a man in Ångermanland was charged with forcing his wife into prostitution. Earlier this week, it was reported that the woman had paid 42,000 kronor in tax on the money linked to the sex purchases.

Now C wants answers from the Minister of Finance on why prostitution should be taxed and calls on her to appear before the Riksdag's tax committee.

"The case in Ångermanland is completely deplorable and a major embarrassment for the government and Sweden as a state governed by the rule of law," says C's spokesperson Helena Vilhelmsson in a comment and continued:

"How long will the Swedish state continue to tax crime victims? Finance Minister Svantesson needs to answer that."
