Sean "Diddy" Combs:

The American, now scandalized, hip-hop mogul is accused by over 120 people of, among other things, rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, assault, blackmail, and sex trade. He was arrested in September last year and has been detained since then, despite requesting to be released on bail several times.

The trial starts in New York on May 5. Diddy denies all crimes but risks life imprisonment if he is convicted.

Gérard Depardieu:

The trial against the French actor took place at the end of March. He is charged with sexual assault against two women, which allegedly took place in 2021 during the filming of the film "Les volets verts".

During the trial, he was called "a sexual predator" by the prosecutor, who also demanded that Depardieu pay damages of 20,000 euros to the two affected women.

Depardieu has denied the crime but acknowledged in court that his behavior can be considered "clumsy".

If Depardieu is convicted, he risks up to five years' imprisonment. The verdict will be announced on May 13.

The Kim Kardashian robbery:

In 2016, reality star Kim Kardashian was subjected to a brutal robbery in her hotel suite at the exclusive Hôtel de Pourtalès in Paris. The robbers bound her, taped her mouth shut, and robbed her at gunpoint of jewelry worth ten million dollars. Kardashian was left bound in the bathroom and managed to free herself only when the robbers fled.

At the beginning of the week, the trial began, and nine men, most in their 70s, are suspected of involvement in the robbery. An 78-year-old woman is also charged.

One of the accused died before the trial started, and most of the others suffer from various ailments. One is deaf, one has Alzheimer's disease, and one is undergoing chemotherapy.

The trial will continue until May 23, and Kardashian testifies on May 13. The accused risk between ten years and life imprisonment.

Russell Brand:

The British comedian is charged with rape and sexual assault. The crimes allegedly took place between 1999 and 2005 and concern four different women. Brand denies the crime.

The trial began in London on May 2, when Russell Brand appeared in Westminster Magistrates' Court. A massive press crowd waited for him outside the court, but Brand was released on bail pending the next phase of the trial. He is due to appear in the Old Bailey on May 30.

In the UK, the maximum sentence for rape is life imprisonment, but it usually applies to the most serious cases.
