NHL team Chicago is celebrating its 100th anniversary and is inviting players to a party. One of the players on the invitation list is Marcus Krüger, who will therefore miss Djurgården's SHL match with Frölunda on Saturday.

"Krüger asked us about this in good time. We felt that we did not want to stand in the way of such a big event, but he will be away from Friday to Sunday," Niklas Wikegård, sports manager at Djurgården, told the club's website.

35-year-old Krüger played for Chicago between 2011 and 2019, in two stints, and won the Stanley Cup on two occasions, in 2013 and 2015. He played 559 games for the club.

The Swedish duo, Johnny Oduya and Viktor Stålberg, were also present at Chicago's celebration.
