The Palestinian Authority (PA), led by the Palestinians' president Mahmoud Abbas, welcomes in a statement Trump's "honest and determined efforts to put an end to the war in Gaza".
The PA also writes that they have confidence in Trump's ability to find a "path to peace".
Eight Arab and Muslim countries praise US President Donald Trump's "honest efforts" to achieve peace.
Want to cooperate
In a joint statement, it is said that they are ready to cooperate constructively with the US and the parties in the conflict to reach an agreement and ensure that it is realized.
Behind the joint statement are Egypt, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Pakistan.
From Western countries, France was the first to comment on the proposed peace plan. On X, President Emmanuel Macron writes that the terrorist-stamped Hamas "has no other choice but to immediately release all hostages".
The EU's Council President António Costa urges all parties to "seize the opportunity and give peace a real chance", in a post on X. The office of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer states in a statement that they support Trump's efforts to put an end to the fighting, release hostages, and ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the people in Gaza.
"It is our top priority and should happen immediately", the office states.
Foreign Minister: Will analyze
Sweden's Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (The Moderate Party) says in a written comment:
"Welcomes all efforts that can lead to an immediate ceasefire and a lasting end to the hostilities. The civilian suffering in Gaza must come to an end and the hostages must be released. The government, together with the EU, will now carefully analyze this plan."
Sharp criticism is also directed at the proposal. The Islamic Jihad, which like Hamas is a terrorist-stamped Islamist movement in Gaza and which participated in the attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, says in a statement that the proposal from the US President is a "recipe for continued aggression against the Palestinian people. Through this, Israel - via the US - is trying to push through what they have not succeeded with through war".
