Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) also had the honour of meeting one of the fur-clad guests, who, seemingly unfazed, walked around the large defence industry conference and the courtyard of the presidential palace - the site of the summit.
"I have one like that at home," said Kristersson, but added that you should be careful with cats you don't know.
Turkey, and especially Istanbul, is known for its huge population of street cats - which residents consider their common pets.
