The working title of the film, directed by Janicza Bravo, is "Good Thing," a nod to Stewart's famous slogan "It's a good thing," Variety writes.
Martha Stewart had her heyday in the 1990s and early 2000s when she wrote several best-selling books and hosted the Emmy-winning show "Martha Stewart Living."
She also published a lifestyle magazine of the same name, which in 2002 had a circulation of more than two million copies per issue. After her media conglomerate went public in 1999, she became the first female self-made billionaire in the United States.
In 2004, Stewart was convicted of insider trading after selling 4,000 shares of a biotechnology company a day before the company's stock price plummeted, and she served five months in prison.
