The artist Yusuf Islam, also known as Cat Stevens, is postponing his planned North America tour, he announces on social media according to the news agency AP.

The reason is problems with the US visa. Cat Stevens writes that he applied several months ago but that he has not received a response and therefore will not have time to get together a tour in the US and Canada.

"I'm really upset!", he writes.

The 77-year-old singer has been on tour to promote his new autobiography. The tour is described as a mix of concert and author talk.

Cat Stevens says that he may carry out the tour at a later date, if his visa is approved. According to AP, several artists have had similar problems, after the processing times - and fees - for US visas have increased.
