A 55-year-old man in Malmö is being billed for 740,000 kronor for completely destroying a rental apartment.

The man lived in the four-room apartment for three years, and during that time, the apartment was completely ruined due to the man smoking and his cat urinating on the parquet floor, claims the landlord MKB, Malmö Municipal Housing Company, writes Hem & Hyra.

When the man moved into the apartment, it was partially renovated, but when he moved out, MKB was forced to completely renovate the entire apartment and sent the bill to the former tenant.

When the man did not pay, the landlord sued him in court, which now gives MKB the right.

The tenant is to pay the entire cost of a total of 740,000 kronor, which also includes three unpaid rents and eviction costs.
