In two days, Sean "Diddy" Combs' former girlfriend has told the court how it was marked by constant abuse and sexual demands.
The second day's testimony culminated in Ventura recounting how Diddy raped her in 2018, after she broke up with him. They met for a farewell dinner at her home, where Combs allegedly raped her at the end of an evening that had been pleasant, according to Casandra Ventura.
I just remember crying and saying no, but it went very quickly, she said in her testimony, according to New York Times.
After mostly being calm in court, Cassie also broke down when she described why she started drug rehabilitation and trauma therapy in 2023. Crying, she said she "did not want to live anymore".
When asked why she chose to testify, Ventura said:
What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. I am here to do the right thing.
Now, an intense cross-examination awaits her. Earlier in the week, Combs' lawyers said that even though the relationship was complicated and abuse occurred at home, the sex trafficking that Sean Combs is accused of did not occur.
Being a willing participant in one's own sex life is not sex trafficking, said defense attorney Teny Geragos earlier in the week, according to AFP.
Combs has been accused by over 120 people of, among other things, rape, sexual abuse, assault, extortion, and sex trafficking. He has denied the crimes but admitted to being abusive during the incident that was caught on film in 2016, when he assaulted Ventura.
