The mass crash occurred 94 kilometres from the finish line of the 180-kilometre race. According to Danish TV2, the 25-year-old Swede is conscious and can move her arms and legs.
Lauretta Hanson of Australia was also taken to hospital, according to the Swiss newspaper Blick.
The race's other Swede, Julia Borgström, was also affected by the mass crash and abandoned the race.
Favourite Demi Vollering of the Netherlands, who won both the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia earlier this year, took gold ahead of Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney of Poland and Elisa Longo Borghini of Italy.
