Carolina routed last year's Stanley Cup champions, Florida, in last night's NHL game. When the game ended, the scoreboard read 9–1.

Danish Nikolaj Ehlers had a great day at work, to say the least. He scored a total of four points: a hat trick and an assist.

Despite Carolina's huge victory, the scoring didn't start until the third period, when Carolina scored a whopping six goals.

Florida, who have won the Stanley Cup two seasons in a row, have been mixed and inconsistent in recent weeks. The team has lost three of its last five games.
