The Moderate Party member and former Prime Minister Carl Bildt has, against all odds, been elected to the church council in the parish of Hedvig Eleonora and Oscar in Stockholm, writes Dagen.

Carl Bildt stood for the Bourgeois Christian Cooperation (BKS) and was on the last place on the list to the church council.

”I am on the very last place on the list more to mark my support”, he wrote in a text message to TT in September.

He became, however, the candidate in the local church election who received the most votes: 287.

In the same parish council, Carl Bildt's brother's wife Marita Bildt has been sitting since before, who is the sister of the current Prime Minister's wife Birgitta Ed.
