Carina Bergfeldt writes a new novel about the time when Sweden wanted to become a great power in the slave trade.

”One day we will return” takes place in the year 1790 on the Swedish slave colony Saint Barthélemy in the Caribbean.

"I was shocked myself when I realized the extent of Sweden's colonial ambitions, and everything that I had not learned in school. When I realized how much we had swept under the carpet, I knew that it was a story that I just had to write”, says Bergfeldt in a press release.

The book is the first in a series of novels and will be published in May next year.

The host and journalist Bergfeldt has previously written crime novels and reportage books.
