A lifeboat belonging to the missing ship has been found, but there is still no trace of the crew, according to reports.
There were ten sailors on board, including the captain, said Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu.
They are all Turkish. We can report that the sinking occurred quickly, in eleven minutes. No one has been found alive.
Two helicopters and 12 ships are searching the area.
The ship collided with a tanker during the night of Wednesday in the Sea of Marmara, southwest of Istanbul.
The Turkish Straits, consisting of the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles at either end of the Sea of Marmara, are among the busiest shipping lanes in the world.
