"Due to the fact that the ship Tugberk Imamoglu did not answer any calls and the crew did not answer their mobile phones ... the dry cargo ship is believed to have sunk," the maritime authority announced after the collision.
The ten missing are crew members.
The incident occurred in the Sea of Marmara, southwest of Istanbul, during the night of Wednesday.
The other ship, an oil and chemical tanker, initially appears not to have been damaged.
