The captain of the cargo ship Meshka which ran aground outside Landskrona in May admits that he was not sufficiently attentive. Now he will be fined 47,500 kronor, reports Helsingborgs Dagblad.

The man has been suspected of negligence in maritime traffic and in the hearing he defends himself by saying that the sea chart data in the ship's system was not complete. At the same time, he admits that he did not have full control over where the ship was located.

I should have discovered this earlier, it was my fault. I could have prevented the accident, he says according to the newspaper.
