It was revealed in the autumn of 2025 that a cardiologist working at Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping had incorrectly declared at least 78 children healthy. It later emerged that healthy children had also been incorrectly diagnosed with serious illnesses by the doctor.
Hundreds of medical records have been reviewed again because of the scandal, and a larger number of patients have been called in for new examinations.
The doctor, who later also worked in Region Skåne, has now had his medical licence revoked.
The revocation, by the Health and Medical Services Responsibility Board, is taking place at his own request, according to Dagens Medicin.
