For more than seven years, the Welsh football club Cardiff has tried to obtain financial compensation after new signing Emiliano Sala of Argentina died in a plane crash in 2019 while travelling from his former club Nantes to Cardiff, without success.
Now a French court has also rejected Cardiff's claim for more than €120 million (equivalent to just over SEK 1.3 billion) in compensation from Sala's former club, Nantes.
Instead, the court said Nantes had suffered moral damage and that Cardiff must pay SEK 3.2 million in damages plus legal costs of approximately SEK 2 million.
