A car caught fire on E4 near Botkyrka south of Stockholm on Tuesday afternoon. The alarm came at 14.48.
It is possible that the car has self-ignited, says the police's press spokesperson Per Fahlström.
Traffic was stopped in all lanes.
There is full accessibility since 15.23. The rescue service was quickly on site. No personal injuries, says the Swedish Transport Administration's communications manager Linda Skanser.
The car has been towed from the scene and there is no suspicion of crime.
