The man was taken to hospital, but was awake and able to speak. There is no information that the child, who was under 15 years old, was injured, Elisabeth Glaas, the police's press spokesperson in Region Nord, told TT.
During the investigation, it has emerged that the accident was due to an illness, Glaas says.
On Tuesday, witnesses and the driver were interviewed. The cordon at the scene has now been lifted and the car is no longer impounded.
A few people were in the gym, but none of them were reportedly injured.
