Four young people died and several others were injured when a vehicle drove into a recreational center outside Springfield, in the American state of Illinois, on Monday afternoon local time.
The deceased are between 4 and 18 years old, the police announced.
It is initially not known whether the incident, in which the car drove into the building and came out the other side, was intentional. The driver was assessed as unharmed but was taken to hospital for control.
