The child who survived is still being treated in hospital, according to the radio station. The other two people on the boat, a woman and a child, died.
On Sunday, it was announced that the captain of the merchant ship was being arrested on probable cause suspicion of manslaughter.
"Two human lives have been lost. What he is saying is that it is a terrible event," the man's defence attorney Taavi Tuula said.
The captain still denies any wrongdoing.
He does not question in any way that he was the commander, but he believes that he was not responsible for this accident, says Taavi Tuula.
Three interviews have been held with the man regarding the incident and another is to be held.
He is clearly affected. He thinks about the incident a lot, but overall I think he is handling it well, says Tuula.
