A Filipino crew member on Solong is missing and is feared to have died.

The 59-year-old captain was arrested on Tuesday and has been detained since then. The man will be brought before a court in Hull on Saturday.

It was on Monday that the cargo ship Solong collided with the Swedish-owned tanker Stena Immaculate, which is chartered by the US Defense and was carrying jet fuel.

Fires broke out on both ships and the crews were evacuated.

Solong is flagged in Portugal and has a crew from Russia and the Philippines.

Stena Immaculate was anchored in the North Sea when she was rammed by Solong. A large tank with jet fuel was punctured, which contributed to extensive fires and raised concerns about spills off England's northern coast.

The ship had a total of 220,000 barrels of jet fuel in its cargo and a crew from the USA.
