A year ago, Jesper Tjäder injured his cruciate ligament. Now the freeskiing star is ready for a comeback - and is chasing an Olympic spot. His rehab has gone really well, sports director Stefan Karlsson tells Radiosporten.

The 31-year-old injured his cruciate ligament during slopestyle qualifying at the World Cup in Aspen, USA, in 2025. Since then, he has been fighting to come back.

Now he is ready to compete.

Tjäder will compete in the last World Cup competition of the season before the Winter Olympics in Italy in February. In Laax, Switzerland, he will try to secure a place in the Winter Games. The qualifying round will take place on Thursday and the final on Saturday.

"He can go full steam ahead in training, and then the question is how it holds up in a competitive context," says Stefan Karlsson.

Jesper Tjäder won Olympic bronze in slopestyle at Beijing 2022.
