"It is the first time a non-European country has participated in the EPC," writes EU Council President António Costa, who invited Carney along with host country Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“Europe and Canada are more than just like-minded partners - together we are building a global alliance to defend peace, shared growth and multilateralism,” writes Costa on X and Blue Sky .
Since the fall of 2022, the loosely knit EPC has brought together all European countries except Russia, Belarus and the Vatican City for regular summits every six months.
The spring summit will be held in Yerevan, Armenia, on Sunday and Monday.
