Denmark made hockey history at their home World Championship last year when they knocked out Canada in the quarterfinals. At this year's World Championship in Switzerland, Canada responded by winning the group-stage match 5–1.

Denmark held Canada to 0–0 for two periods, but after Porter Martone scored 1–0 just 28 seconds into the third period, the Danes lost their nerve, and goals to make it 2–0 and 3–0 followed quickly. Canada is now undefeated in the World Championship after three matches.

In Group A, Finland has full points after three matches following a 6–2 win against the USA.
