With less than a day left before the opening match of the World Cup, Canada has suffered a major setback. Team captain Alphonso Davies has not recovered from his thigh injury and will not be able to play, coach Jesse Marsch announced.
However, there is still hope that he will be able to play in upcoming matches.
"We really hope we can speed things up in the coming days and weeks and give him the chance to contribute," Marsch said at a press conference, according to The Athletic.
