The Norwegian handball star Camilla Herrem announced in June that she had been affected by breast cancer. Now the 38-year-old is back on the pitch. It feels good to just be able to feel like myself, says Herrem to NRK.

Only five days after the last chemotherapy treatment, Camilla Herrem has returned to the handball court. On Sunday, the 38-year-old scored four goals for her Sola HK in the league premiere against Oppsal in the Norwegian league.

Handball has always been a refuge for me, regardless of what has happened. I would not have managed without the support I received from everyone around me and from the team, she says to NRK.

Herrem is one of the greatest handball players of all time, with two Olympic Games gold medals, three World Championship gold medals and six European Championship gold medals. Last year, she ended her national team career after 332 national team matches for Norway.

There were a lot of emotions, I must say. I felt a lump in my throat when we stood in line and were presented. But it was nice to get the match over with, says Herrem.
