It's all over for Chelsea in the FA Cup. Premier League colleague Brighton won 2–1 at home and advanced to the fifth round.
Japanese Kaoru Mitoma scored the winning goal in the 57th minute after a messy situation.
Brighton were otherwise behind 0–1 after just five minutes when home goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen responded with an own goal. Chelsea star Cole Palmer took a shot that the Dutchman only had to gather, but it all ended with him directing the ball into his own goal.
The equalizer came as early as the 12th minute through Georginio Rutter. Brighton's Swedish national team player Yasin Ayari came on with a quarter of an hour left to play.
For the Brighton players, the win was something of a revenge on themselves. Last time in the Premier League, the team lost 0–7 away to Nottingham.
