At the close, the broad OMXS index rose 0.5 percent. Among the winners on the large-cap OMXS30 list was telecom group Ericsson, up 2.9 percent. Another winner was mining company Boliden, up 2.5 percent.
On the losers' side, major banks stood out, with SEB down 1.6 percent, Handelsbanken down 0.7 percent and Swedbank down 0.6 percent.
On Thursday, the tech-heavy Nasdaq in the US fell after Nvidia dropped about 5 percent following its quarterly report on Wednesday evening. When Wall Street opened on Friday afternoon, Swedish time, all major indexes were trading lower.
On European stock exchanges, trading was mixed as the trading week ended.
The oil price fluctuated somewhat, mostly higher on Friday, depending on signals from talks between Iran and the US. At 5:30 p.m., a barrel of North Sea oil was trading at just over $72.
