American Cadillac becomes the eleventh team in the Formula 1 season 2026. Already in November, it became clear that the number of teams in F1 would be expanded from next year, but only now has Cadillac received the green light from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and Formula 1.
Cadillac's team is owned by General Motors and TWG Motorsports – which is a branch of TWG Global, which in turn has ownership interests in, among other things, Premier League club Chelsea, baseball team Los Angeles Dodgers, and women's NHL (PWHL).
There is also already an American team, Haas, in Formula 1.
