The Center Party in Stockholm has previously been in favor of closure. But many representatives elsewhere in the country with regional airports, such as Halland, Kronoberg and Ängelholm, want to keep the airport, which they believe facilitates business and job creation.
It is an issue for the whole country and not just for Bromma, says Andreas Joäng, group leader for Centern in Växjö, in a debate.
But the meeting voted with the party board, which wants the airport closed. The party's arguments include that almost all commercial air traffic has left the airport and that it is therefore too costly for Swedavia to continue operating the airport.
