C Gambino's Parents Find Relief After Murder Verdict

C Gambino's parents are relieved after today's verdict, as it is clear that three people are convicted of aiding and abetting the murder of the artist. The verdict is some form of redress and justice, says the family members' representative Mia Sandros to TT.

Mia Sandros spoke with C Gambino's parents before the verdict came on Wednesday morning. They were worried about what the outcome would be for the four accused men in their 20s, who were suspected of being involved in the murder.

They were stressed that it might not be a verdict they wanted. They were eager for accountability to be demanded, says Mia Sandros.

After the verdict, the parents were relieved.

The verdict is some form of redress and justice, even though they will never get their son back.

She was aware that the evidence in the case was of an indirect nature.

At times during the main hearing, one could feel a bit of worry about how it would turn out, says Mia Sandros.

Two of the four accused were primarily suspected of murder, but were thus convicted of the secondary charge – accessory to murder. So far, no decision has been made to appeal the verdict from the parents' side.

There is room to appeal. The preliminary charges for murder have not been accepted after all. Moreover, there may be reason to appeal the sentence for those who received fixed-term sentences. We need to make an analysis, notes Mia Sandros.

At the same time, she understands why the district court rules as they do in this case.

I can buy the argument that they do not find it proven beyond all reasonable doubt that these two individuals fired the shots, says Mia Sandros.

Four men between 19 and 22 years old were convicted of crimes in the case.

A 22-year-old was suspected of murder in the first place, but was convicted of accessory to murder and received a life sentence.

Another person, 21, was suspected of murder. He was convicted of accessory to murder, where the sentence was 12 years and 6 months in prison.

The third person, 20, was convicted of accessory to murder and, among other things, grossly protecting a criminal. He received 15 years and 6 months in prison.

The youngest person, 19, was convicted to ten months in prison for gross vandalism and grossly protecting a criminal.
