Last week, the newspaper was the first to report on internal dissatisfaction with Byström, despite the fact that the cross-country team won ten medals at the Olympics.
And the other day, men's skier Edvin Anger said that the national team would benefit from a completely new organization.
On Friday, Byström met with the press ahead of this weekend's World Cup competitions in Holmenkollen.
That something like this comes after a very successful championship... Of course it feels sad and unpleasant," he says.
The criticism has included lack of communication, weak leadership and the handling of Linn Svahn during the Olympics. The national team manager tells Expressen that he would have liked to hear the criticism personally from the skiers.
"We have a climate where we want the skiers to talk to the person concerned. I hope that is done in the process we will have now," he says.
Byström tells Aftonbladet that "I feel in my heart that there will be a negative buzz." He was not prepared for the criticism:
No, I can't say that. We have evaluations all the time and have had them with the skiers individually. There is nothing that has hinted at anything like that.
