For the first time, the Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD has now surpassed Tesla in the sales statistics for Europe, writes Financial Times. 7,231 registrations versus 7,165 for Tesla, now means a trend break, states the analysis firm Jato Dynamics.
It is a watershed for the European car market, especially considering that Tesla has been dominant on the European electric car market for several years, while BYD began its sales in Norway and later the Netherlands as late as 2022, says Felip Munoz, analyst at Jato Dynamics to the newspaper.
