The number of people in the violent Islamist milieu has increased sharply in the past ten years, while parallel societies have emerged and women are still subjected to honor-based oppression in Sweden, according to Busch. She takes the development seriously and believes that there is a "values gap" that needs to be addressed.
"It's time for Sweden to wake up. We need to fight for the values that must apply to everyone in our country," she says.
Busch emphasizes that the party's fight against Islamism should not be confused with Islam and says that Muslims who have chosen Sweden to escape oppression are often those hit hardest by extremism.
"They are our allies. We need to join hands with our Swedish Muslim brothers and sisters," she says.
In the ten-point action plan now being presented ahead of the election, the party repeats several of its previous demands, including banning the burqa and niqab in public settings and banning the veil in preschools and primary schools.
KD also opposes public calls to prayer and wants to establish an EU-wide blacklist of hate preachers. The party also wants to introduce stricter criminal liability for Swedish citizens who participate in proxy attacks by foreign powers against targets in Sweden.
Ban the burqa, niqab and other face coverings in public settings, and ban the veil in preschools and primary schools.
Ban Sharia courts and punish anyone who organizes, leads, or serves as a judge in them.
Strengthen principals' responsibility and scope for action to stop gender separation, compulsory veiling and other honor norms in preschools and schools.
Say no to regular outward calls to prayer from religious buildings.
Establish an EU-wide blacklist against hate preachers.
Require a citizenship ceremony with a declaration of loyalty.
Investigate and introduce stricter criminal liability for Swedish citizens who participate in proxy attacks and recruitment operations by foreign powers against targets in Sweden.
Supplement the investigation into mandatory language preschool with a requirement that even those on parental leave with small children in vulnerable environments must participate in mandatory language and social introduction.
Stop all public funding - state, municipal and regional - to organizations that promote extremism.
Give Säpo and the Center against Violent Extremism the task of mapping Islamist actors' institutional anchoring, funding flows and influence in civil society.
