Since 12 noon on Wednesday, public transport buses have been at a standstill in Norrtälje Municipality, north of Stockholm, Norrtelje Tidning reports.
The reason is that safety representatives consider transport giant Transdev’s safety checks on its vehicles inadequate.
“We don’t know how long it has been since the buses had an approved safety inspection,” safety officer Fredrik Bergh told Norrtelje Tidning.
Buses in the town of Rimbo are exempt because they undergo different safety checks, according to Bergh.
