Swedes Among Injured in Flixbus Crash North of Berlin

23 people are injured since a bus drove off the road and overturned north of Berlin during the night towards Friday. According to the police, Swedes were on board.

Two drivers and 54 passengers of around 20 different nationalities were on board when the accident occurred, among them Swedes, the police announce in a press release.

At least one of the over 20 injured has sustained serious injuries, according to the police. The person is said to have been wedged in and could only be cut free two hours after the accident, according to NDR.

The number of injured and their condition is not final, according to the police.

The bus from the company Flixbus was on its way from Copenhagen to Vienna when the accident occurred around 2:40 at night towards Friday, near the town of Röbel, almost 15 miles north of Berlin.

The highway A19 was closed due to the accident in the direction of Berlin.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
