A bus has crashed into a bridge pillar on the E22 in Malmö. The bus driver, a female passenger and two other people have been taken to hospital, police say.

Two of the people are being treated for serious injuries, according to Region Skåne. The other two are reported to have minor injuries.

It is a bus that has crashed into a bridge pillar at the height of Segevång and we are on site with several patrols together with the rescue service and ambulance, says Filip Annas, press spokesperson for the police.

The accident is causing long queues as it is a busy road and there are major traffic disruptions.

According to TT's photographer, the place is slippery.

The rescue service tells Sydsvenskan that several passersby saw the bus skid and then drive into the bridge pillar.

"It was problematic for us to get there because of the traffic jams. We had to drive against the traffic from Segevång. Now we are in place with three stations," says Rickard Nilsson, line operator, to the newspaper.

In addition to the driver, there were about 15 people on the bus, says Rickard Nilsson.
