At least six people died and five were injured in Tuesday's bus fire in Kerzers in the canton of Fribourg - twenty kilometers west of the capital, Bern. The fire broke out on the main street at around 6:30 p.m.
Martial Pugin, head of communications at the police in the canton of Fribourg, said in an interview with RTS on Wednesday that it was most likely a deliberate act, but there is currently no evidence it was a terrorist act.
Pictures in Blick and elsewhere show the bus was completely engulfed in flames and destroyed.
The prosecutor's office has opened a criminal investigation, the Fribourg police announced. At this time, there is no suspect.
