The driver, who is in his 60s, is suspected on probable grounds of causing death, causing bodily harm and negligence in traffic.
In an interrogation on Wednesday afternoon, he denied the charges. Dahlberg does not want to discuss his client's account of what happened when the bus drove into the ditch.
"I have just been informed that he must remain in custody overnight," says Dahlberg, adding that the prosecutor must request that the driver be remanded in custody by tomorrow at the latest.
We'll see if the prosecutor chooses to do that. This is not normally a crime for which you are deprived of your liberty.
Prosecutor Tommy Sköld told Expressen that they still have not received any explanation for how the accident could have occurred.
"We are still in a situation where we cannot rule out anything," he says.
Several people who were on the bus have not yet been interviewed, according to Sköld.
We don't want to release information at the risk of tarnishing their accounts, he says.
On Tuesday, Region Kronoberg (regional health authority) said that around ten people were being treated at hospitals in the region. The three people who had previously received intensive care were moved to regular wards.
