Buffalo Sabres took on the reigning NHL champions Florida Panthers. Then the home team won with 3–0.

Rasmus Dahlin scored an assist in the match when he was behind the 1-0 goal made by Josh Doan, but did not score any more points in the match. On the other hand, the Swede was involved in a quarrel with Florida's Brad Marchand.

After Dahlin's cross-checking in Marchand's back, the Canadian got angry and handed out a few blows to Dahlin. When Marchand was then penalized, he took the Swede's helmet with him into the penalty box, and tore it to pieces.

But that did not stop the Sabres who, after all, won the match clearly.
