On Tuesday evening, Brynäs announced they had parted ways with Finn Juuso Välimäki, who had signed a two-year contract with the club.
But on Thursday night, local time in Sweden, a turnaround came. The 27-year-old signed a new contract with the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes.
The one-year contract is worth $900,000, equivalent to 8.8 million Swedish kronor, the NHL club wrote in a press release.
