NHL-merited Michal Kempny has signed for Brynäs. The Czech defender has played a total of 277 matches in NHL and won the Stanley Cup with Washington Capitals 2018. In addition, he has taken both World Championship gold and World Championship bronze with the Czech ice hockey national team.

Brynäs were newcomers in SHL last season and the comeback ended with a final loss against Luleå.
Michal Kempny's contract extends over the coming season 2025–2026.
