Brynäs Defenseman Robert Hägg Suspended for Punching Växjö’s Olivier Nadeau

Brynäs star defenseman Robert Hägg will be suspended for one game for punching Växjö's Olivier Nadeau in the back of the head, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's disciplinary committee announced.

The incident, which occurred in Saturday's SHL match, did not initially result in a suspension. However, following a review, it has now been announced that national team player Hägg will be suspended for the match.

"Hägg is close to Nadeau when he delivers a powerful blow with his left fist to the back of Nadeau's head. Nadeau cannot defend himself," the ruling says, among other things.

In addition to the suspension, Hägg must pay a fine of 20,500 kronor.
