In four series, Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan as somewhat elevated versions of themselves have traveled around England, Italy, Spain and Greece respectively – quarreled, eaten well, teased each other and made imitations of famous actors.
The series have also been edited into feature films, which have become very popular – not least in Swedish cinemas.
After the fourth season in 2020, it was supposed to end. But now it's clear that there will be another trip – "The trip to the northern lights". As before, directed by Michael Winterbottom. The series will be shown on Sky in the UK.
The trip takes them from "sculptural Swedish hotels to remote Norwegian fishing cabins", writes Sky in a press release.
"I'm so glad that Michael Winterbottom has managed to convince me at the age of 59 and Rob, 60, to squeeze out the last comedy drops from a bottle that we both basically thought was empty", says Coogan in a statement.
The six-part series starts filming later this year.
