A national strike has been announced in Belgium over the country's savings plan. The strike affects, among other things, public transport and airports.
The airport in Brussels has cancelled all its departures on Tuesday after security personnel went on strike. The airport in Charleroi also reports that they lack sufficient staff and are cancelling departures on Tuesday.
Belgium is struggling with too large a budget deficit. The country is trying to save around 10 billion euros and is reviewing, among other things, the pension system.
