Scialfa, who is one of the members of the E Street Band, confirmed two years ago that she had been living with a rare form of blood cancer since 2018, writes NME .
At a charity fundraiser for a cancer institute where Scialfa was treated, Bruce Springsteen shared the news of her recovery in a video message, adding that his wife's journey shows something important:
“Medical research is not just an idea. It is not politics. It is not a line item in a budget. It is why families find hope when hope seems hardest to find.”
Scialfa has been with the E Street Band since 1984 but has not performed in recent years due to her illness.
