Malmö FF loses almost never at Eleda Stadium. Last year, it only happened once, against Sirius in July (0–1). This season, the first home defeat came as early as Monday, in the seventh round of the football Allsvenskan.
Moreover, against a team they had never lost to in the top division before.
Brommapojkarna, who made their Allsvenskan debut in 2007, created virtually nothing in the first half, but directly after the break, it happened twice within a few minutes.
"Not just luck"
First, Ezekiel Alladoh showed his strength when the Ghanaian striker pushed aside MFF's Nils Zätterström and scored his third goal of the season.
The goal came out of nowhere. Just three minutes later, another one came. Daleho Irandust finished off a BP counterattack by precision-shooting in 2–0 from the penalty area edge.
In the second half, we start incredibly well. "Eze" does incredibly well at 1–0 and then I make it 2–0, says Daleho Irandust to Max.
Lasse Berg Johnsen reduced the score, and after that, a tough MFF pressure for an equalizer during the last ten minutes followed – but a resultless one.
This is not the easiest to play. But we come here to do our thing and take as many points as possible. So we are happy for three points, but it's not just luck either, says Irandust.
Falling in the top
The reigning champion Malmö FF is the gold favorite even this year, but has had a slow start to Allsvenskan 2025. Not only have they only won three out of seven matches, but seven goals forward also do not impress.
Already now, six points up to series leader Mjällby. Sixth-placed Brommapojkarna is table-five MFF hot on their heels, one point behind.
It's always piss to lose. And it's always a little worse at home in front of our supporters. You don't feel like crap. At the same time, it's my job to look ahead and that's what I'll do, says MFF coach Henrik Rydström to Max.
Somewhat closer to the top is Elfsborg, which is new four after Monday's win over Gais (2–0). Frederik Ihler broke the zero in the middle of the first half and Terry Yegbe extended the winning score after about an hour's play.
