Broad declines on Asian stock markets

Japan's main index Nikkei 225 is down 1.9 percent, while the broader Topix is down 1.4 percent.

South Korea's Kospi falls 1.7 percent.

The Hong Kong-based Hang Seng also fell by 1.3 percent.

China's Shanghai and Shenzhen are both down 0.4 percent.
