The Sami textile artist Britta Marakatt-Labba, currently featured in a retrospective exhibition at home in Kiruna, is awarded the Norwegian newspaper Klassekampen's Neshorn prize.
She receives the prize for her politically powerful artistry, according to the motivation, which also highlights that she has conveyed Sami culture and history to a broad audience with knowledge and diligence.
The prize consists of a diploma and a bronze rhinoceros by Christine Aspelund.
